imperfect index is an annual small talks event about the discriminatory past and present of graphic design, looking forward to diverse and inclusive futures. Organized by Laura Parke and Abbie Vickress.

Co-designed with Pedro Sousa, both of us were responsible for contributing towards the art direction, designing the logo, social media posts, and any supporting visuals for the event.

Collage techniques
Visual nod to how the event gathers designers and practitioners from various backgrounds and disciplines, to create something new.
Risograph-inspired colours
To evoke an “imperfect” and approachable look, countering clean and sleek design aesthetics. In addition to considering risograph’s history within alternative cultures and eco-friendlier inks.
Typeface
Focusing on female type designers who are often overlooked in type design “canon”, the identity uses Domino Mono by Sun Young Oh, a South Korean designer.
